One thing that is happening is that we are getting a lot of companies contact us wanting to fill a talk slot, talk about a technology they use and essentially plug their business.
As the event is aimed at local community groups promoting themselves, we've decided that it wouldn't really be fair to have businesses directly promoting themselves. After all, pretty much all of the group members work for different companies, but will be there in the capacity of promoting the community groups, not their businesses or employers.
Unless those businesses were to financially sponsor the event, so that we can provide things like free food and badges; and ensure their talk is more about the technology and not simply self promotion.
So if you are contacting us in this respect, then please include your sponsorship offer.
